BG&G Enterprises is a conglomeration of several small hobby projects I have been involved with throughout the years. For example, I started selling gift items in 1984 through catalogs and at flea markets. This was a fun way to meet people and supplement my main source of income. And helping people has always been second nature for me. With eyes rolling, some of my family members often accuse me of giving unsolicited advise. Regardless, they and neighbors come to for scholarship information, computer, resume, and tax preparation help.
In 1996, I became bored with the routine and pay scale of my regular job and went back to school after 20 years. Within four years, I obtained degrees in industrial electronics, occupational safety and health, and industrial management, and was enthusiastically looking forward to starting my second career. However, just one week after graduation, I shattered my right leg. Facing a long recuperation period and no source of income except savings, I was hard-pressed to find a way to pay my bills. I was not able work a regular job, and catalog or flea market sales were no longer an option either. After a couple of months of bed restriction, the idea for BG&G Enterprises online was conceived. Not only did I see it as a revenue source, but a way to continue to help people.
Hobbling to my computer everyday, I began to teach myself the basics of HTML. From 2001 and 2002, I experimented with several website builders and hosting plans before finding CityMax.com that had all the features and flexibility I wanted and needed.
The year of 2003 was spent doing research & development. I have invested thousands of man-hours, much to the chagrin of my loved ones, researching the products that I offer --- personally testing many of them. With feedback from fellow webmasters, family, and friends, I have changed the look and navigational scheme several times.
For the most part, BG&G Enterprises was put on auto-pilot during 2004-2007. A long-running family crisis dictated that I commute to another state to run both households while working a full-time job or contract project. When I had time, marketing efforts mainly consisted of optimizing my meta-tags, rotating banners, and running a few local ads. But BGGE survived. (see our directory for marketing tools).
Now that I am home to stay (for a while at least), I am shifting the focus of the site and promoting the business and personal resouces sections. As I re-launch my site, my goal still remains the same - bringing you quality products, great offers, free resources, and "complete" customer satisfaction. Thank you for visiting BG&G Enterprises. Keep coming back!
